Show Season Fun

We don't raise show cattle, but we enjoy raising cattle that show. It is fun to bring in the genetics pieces of the show world, but keep the cattle practical and make sure they still have their breeding purpose. We have added some fun genetics that we are excited to put through a show ring before they get to work raising babies!

Oliver joined the ranks this year with his first year as a cloverbud. He showed Marvin like an old pro!

The Cattle here have to be able to do both. Be prepped for breeding season, but be willing to to hit the road when asked. Our cattle are so docile, they enjoy the pampered show heifer life while it lasts.

Our show stock is powered by Umbarger Show Feeds. This feed has been recommended to us over and over. We are lucky enough to have a dealer local to us in the lakes county. This feed as been a great addition to our operation to get them in show shape, but still maintain them for breeding season! Visit Umbarger Show Feeds for more information. They are great to work with and do one on one consultations on your show stock. Click here for their website.
Underwood Oil, Inc is our local dealer if you are interested in trying Umbarger Show Feeds.

Vision

We have a passion of raising good honest cattle. That being said we want them to have the flexibility to go to work in our breeding pens, but be able to go have some fun as well. We don't travel the country with them, but we try to get around Minnesota with them. The cattle showing world has done a lot for the nieces and nephews and we enjoy getting to share our cattle with them. The lessons it teaches the kids and the people you meet along the way can't be beat.

We are super excited that we finally got to add a Callie to our breeding lineup. She caught my eye as soon as the catalog came out, and sold me the second I saw her in the pen. Auto Callie speaks for her self as well as her sire TASF Heineken. This heifer is outstanding to look at but has the most gentle, loving demeanor to go with it. She Summer gets to pair up with her this summer to hit a few shows!

This was Scott's pick from the moment the catalog came out. There was no leaving Iowa without this one coming home with us. She is the spitting image of her dam Mags Grete, and backed by one of the coolest sires in the game. We were looking to add some new genetics we don't have and she checks every single box. She is a powerful female that we hope finds her way to the donor pen for us. She also has the sweetest personality, and she knows she's pretty. She will also team up with Summer this show season to see what they can do together!

"Smidget" as we call her, this gal is actually a full sister to the one above. We couldn't say no to throwing her in the trailer before leaving Iowa. She will be another great addition to our breeding lineup. She was a bit behind on size due to a recip cow not producing quite the same as the others, but after we got her home and continued on her Umbarger Show Feed program, she has really come around.

She will get to take her turn the the show pen this season as well.

Wow is all we can say about this heifer! She is massive, but attractive. We Have two maternal sisters by Cell Envision out of Mags Walkin and they have been great in the breeding pen. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to add this gal to the line up as well. She is a gentle giant, and we think she's going to raise some nice herd bulls!

Hunter and her are going to team up for his first show season with a breeding heifer. Good thing is, he makes her look normal sized.

"Lara" was purchased spring 2024 to add to the show line up as we didn't have our own fall breeding heifer to show. She has a unique look, and has a lot of really great pieces. She has a bold personality and taught Summer a lot this past show season. Sometimes cattle are humbling. She got turned out after the show season was over, and we held her over to breed with out spring heifers. She will get to come back out this season as a senior yearling breeding heifer if she feels like going to work.
